Supporting the National Abortion Federation
Upon the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade on June 24th, G4F saw it as crucial to provide support to women which were effected by this decision. In collaboration with Pro Choice Frisco, G4F held a virtual and in-person fundraiser on June 25th in which the total proceeds of $1,224 were directed to the National Abortion Federation.
Feminine Hygiene Drive
G4F recognizes the importance of promoting universal access to necessary feminine care supplies. From June 27th- July 2nd, G4F hosted a drive collecting feminine hygiene products for SheSupply, an organization based out of Dallas, TX which distributes items to those in need. G4F members were able to earn volunteer hours by donating items and working the drive booth.
Packing and Sorting Feminine Hygiene Supplies
To conclude of the Feminine Hygiene Drive, G4F hosted a volunteer event on July 2nd to sort and pack the items which we collected. Additionally, members wrote cards to SheSupply expressing our gratitude for their partnership. In total, G4F was able to collect 1,573 items towards the cause.
Breast Cancer Awareness Posters
To spread awareness about Breast Cancer during the month of October, students at Reedy High School created and distributed breast cancer awareness posters featuring statistical facts about breast cancer around the school campus.
